There is a system of Qanats around Layla lakes
(300km S of Al Kharj)
I foolishley carried dive gear all the way to
the lakes in ~1992. Foolishly because I then felt obliged to dive the very
uninspiring muddy holes by the icy first light of dawn. They entirely lived
up to initial impressions!

Thanks for the info on these qanats! Could you give us any more information
on them? For example, how far are the qanats below the surface? Any idea
how long some of them may be? Usually qanat entrance holes are evenly
spaced...how about these: how far apart are the holes?
